Child Safety Policy

Commitment to Child ProtectionThese Terms govern

Almaya is a private social application designed for sharing life stories with family and loved ones. While our platform is not intended for children and requires users to be of legal age in their jurisdiction, we are firmly committed to child safety. We comply with Google Play’s Child Safety Standards and implement proactive policies and measures to prevent any form of exploitation, abuse, or risk to children on our platform.Below is a detailed outline of our child protection policies, aligned with Google Play’s regulatory requirements and international best practices.
Prohibition of Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (CSEA)
Almaya strictly prohibits all forms of child sexual exploitation or abuse. This principle is embedded in our Terms of Service and public community standards. Any content that facilitates the exploitation or abuse of children is absolutely forbidden, including Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) in photos, videos, or any other format.

The following are examples of conduct that is never tolerated:

Grooming or predatory behavior toward minors:
Attempts to initiate inappropriate interactions or sexual exploitation of a child (e.g., online contact to facilitate abuse, sexual propositions, etc.). Almaya enforces a zero-tolerance policy toward grooming. Upon any suspicion, we will act immediately and comprehensively—restricting the user’s communication functions, investigating the incident, and, if confirmed, permanently suspending the account and notifying the appropriate authorities.

Sexualization of minors: Any content that sexually depicts a minor, promotes their sexual exploitation, or presents children in an inappropriate sexual context.

Cyberbullying, extortion, or trafficking involving children: Threatening messages or blackmail intended to obtain intimate images of a minor (sextortion), as well as child trafficking or commercial sexual exploitation (e.g., child prostitution or related offers).

Any user engaging in these activities will be immediately removed from the platform. We reserve the right to delete such content and cooperate with authorities to ensure the protection of affected minors.
Age Restrictions and a Private Environment
Minimum age: In line with our Terms of Use, Almaya is designed for adults of legal age in their jurisdiction. Minors are not permitted to create accounts. If we discover that a user is underage, we may block or delete their account immediately. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without verified parental or guardian consent, in full compliance with applicable child privacy laws.

Closed environment without unknown contacts: Unlike public social networks, Almaya operates through private circles. Each user (the “Narrator” of their autobiography) invites only trusted Loved Ones to access their content. All content shared in Almaya is strictly private and owned by its creator, accessible only to invited members with a private access key. There is no public feed, user search for strangers, or open public chat rooms. Interactions are limited to commenting or reacting to memories within the authorized circle, which prevents unwanted contact between minors and strangers. This privacy-focused design significantly reduces the risk of harassment or inappropriate contact with minors on the platform.
In-App Reporting and Feedback
Almaya provides an internal mechanism for users to send feedback, raise concerns, or report inappropriate content directly within the app. Without leaving Almaya, users can contact our support team via the “Send Feedback” option or through the integrated support chat (via WhatsApp) to report offensive, abusive, or child-safety-violating content.

Dedicated support team: Our support team monitors and responds to reports promptly. Any child safety-related report receives priority attention. Our staff is trained to identify potential risks and take immediate action.

Confidentiality and swift action: We treat each report with the utmost seriousness and confidentiality. If content involving potential harm to a child is reported, we initiate a review immediately and act in accordance with our policies (content removal, account suspension, and notification to authorities, if necessary)

This in-app feedback system empowers the Almaya community to help maintain a safe environment. We encourage users to report any behavior or material they consider inappropriate or dangerous for children.
Content Moderation and CSAM Removal
We take content moderation extremely seriously, particularly regarding any material involving minors. While the private nature of our platform limits content exposure, we have strong procedures in place to detect and remove potential abuse:

Detection and removal of illegal material: If we become aware of CSAM on our platform, we will remove it immediately in compliance with our published standards and applicable laws. This includes any image, video, audio, or file depicting child sexual exploitation.

Proactive moderation: We use a combination of automated filters and human review to prevent prohibited content from being shared. Even though Almaya is a closed environment, we are committed to ensuring that no harmful child-related content remains available, even within private circles.

Action against violators: Any user who uploads, shares, or stores content that violates these policies will face severe sanctions, including suspension or permanent account closure. Misuse of our features (such as private invitations) to distribute illegal material will result in immediate removal from the platform.
Legal Compliance and Cooperation with Authorities
Almaya complies with all applicable child safety laws and regulations in the countries where we operate. We stay informed on global standards—such as the Tech Coalition Child Safety Standards—and adapt our practices based on expert recommendations.

Reporting process: We have established procedures for reporting confirmed CSAM cases to the relevant authorities. In line with Google Play’s requirements, if we identify child sexual exploitation content, we will report it immediately to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) in the U.S. or the appropriate legal authority in other regions. We fully cooperate with both local and international law enforcement in the investigation and prosecution of crimes against minors.

Collaboration and transparency: We work closely with child protection agencies and respond to legitimate legal requests for information. In emergencies involving an imminent risk to a child, we will proactively contact law enforcement or relevant child protection agencies. Where necessary, we preserve and provide evidence in accordance with legal requirements to support prosecution.

Regional compliance: Operating in multiple countries (Chile, Mexico, Argentina, the United Kingdom, the United States, Brazil, and others), Almaya complies with local child safety and privacy regulations. This includes adherence to COPPA in the U.S., avoiding the collection of data from children under 13, and compliance with the GDPR in the EU regarding parental consent and child data protection.
Internal Training and Continuous Improvement
Our team is committed to staying up to date on digital child safety issues. We take the following steps to continuously strengthen our protection measures:

Policy integration: We regularly review app features and community practices to ensure compliance with our child safety policy. Any new feature or change to Almaya is assessed from a child protection perspective before launch.

Review and auditing: We conduct regular internal reviews of our child safety measures and welcome external audits or consultations to identify areas for improvement. We also consider feedback from users and the Google Play community to strengthen our policies.
Designated Child Safety Contact
In compliance with Google Play requirements, Almaya has appointed a dedicated Child Safety Contact to handle notifications regarding CSEA content and to coordinate the enforcement of our policies. If Google Play alerts us to any child exploitation content, our designated contact will promptly investigate and take appropriate action (content removal, user bans, etc.).

Contact Information: For inquiries, reports, or concerns regarding this Child Safety Policy, please contact our Child Safety Team at hello@almayalife.com.
